Day 290
Barra, (Bahia) Salvador, Brasil South America
What a gorgeous morning it is today..as i look out my window i can see tropical plants growing and the weather and its warm with a cool breeze at the same time...
I wish we could stay here!
Even though there is a high crime rate and you can feel the fragility of the area as you look over your shoulder at guards and police on every corner..it is also very beautiful and untouched. The water is so blue..the leaves are so green..the people are so black and the colours are so vivid..
Yet...today is our last day in this tropical paradise...
It´s the cultural capital of Brasil...where africa meets the caribbean...and where the colonial beauty is seen as something beautiful rather than a symbol of spanish destruction...
And it is here..we´ll remember the people, ´the beaches, the coconuts, the palm trees, the sunsets, the food, and especially the soul music...which flooded our veins each minute we have been here..it´s everywhere..in the hotel, on the streets, on the beach..
Tomorrow we will be in Foz, or Iguazu Falls....
But for now..we´re going to wander the cobblestone streets and put our feet in the beautiful ocean once more...and eat at our favourite restaurant overlooking the beach that looks so much like cotts...and soak up the beauty of this place they call Salvador..
See you in Foz! xx
PS Watching the Simpsons in Portuguese is something else!!!!!!
